Sharing Web Resources

  • ·       What specific section(s) or information seemed particularly relevant to your current professional development?

The web site that I chose to explore and present as n essential part to my professional development is The National Head Start Association (NHSA). The most relevant part of my professional development comes from attending conferences which are explained below.

Conferences
NHSA offers five conference and training events each year: The Parent and Annual conferences, two leadership institutes and a manager and director academy. Each event offer unique opportunities for Head Start professionals and partners to actively learn from experts collaborate with peers and celebrate Head Start’s impact.

  • ·       Which ideas/statements/resources, either on the website or in an e-newsletter, did you find controversial or made you think about an issue in new ways?

The article about Advocacy for Reform really opened my eyes and thinking about how the program is ran and the need for new policies that are put in place to help the families and the children that are served.
·       What information does the website or the e-newsletter contain that adds to your understanding of how economists, neuroscientists, or politicians support the early childhood field?
The Knowledge Center is the part of the website that emphasize the newly found information from the law makers, economist and scientist that educates the families and society about the newly formed data and information that deals with the elements of the Head Start Program and the Community.

  • ·       What other new insights about issues and trends in the early childhood field did you gain from exploring the website or e-newsletter?

As I took the time to explore the website I gained valued information about the impact that it has on the area of early childhood education in the 2q1st century and beyond. I also gain information about the importance of the program returning to their evidence-based roots and practises that made the program a success.
